23.05.2017 I have attended "Developing academic skills of 21st century students" Macmillan Webinar.
Learning English at an academic level can be so much more than doing lots of grammar exercises and memorizing a lot of words and phrases. Academic success requires a range of academic skills. These include analysing and producing complex academic texts. Doing so in English is a great opportunity to learn how to think critically when reading, writing, and speaking.
In this practical session, Grzegorz Śpiewak, Ph.D.demonstrated how we could develop our students’ linguistic and academic skills simultaneously as part of a modern academic language programme. He demonstrated a number of fresh, engaging materials and activity types, partly drawn from Skillful, an innovative course series published by Macmillan.
